I have recently upgraded my WD MyCloud to MyCloud Home NAS and it is a bit different from the previous version.

I am trying to setup the backup software and even I try to access the mapped drive on my PC for the NAS the backup software wants a username / password. I cannot find anywhere in the dashboard of the MyCloud Home to setup a username/password? If I go through WIndows to the mapped drive it never asks for the username/password.

Can anyone help?

Try opening Windows command (cmd.exe) and run “net use”

User Name and Password prompt when attempting to access Public folder

I ended up needing to map the drive from the command line, as suggested on the Acronis forums. I had to also include the generic user name/password, as suggested by SBrown above: net use x: \ Mycloud-xxxxxx\Public /user:nobody nobody Thank you for the help!
