Hello,

how can I edit my excel or word files stored on MyCloud when accessing them via the MyCloud app on my iPad?

Do you have an app on your iPad that is able to open/edit those files?

Generally when one attempts to open or download a file from the My Cloud to their mobile device that the My Cloud app cannot open the app will either prompt the user to select an app to open or one has to manually open that app themselves and then open the downloaded file themselves.

thanks for your quick reply. Okay, MyCloud does open e.g. docx files. But it does not let me edit them. However I can open it with the Word app. But when I do that a local copy is created that I can’t edit. And with Word I can’t save data onto MyCloud, only on Onedrive.

Any idea about an app that let me save a file onto MyCloud?

I don’t have any iOS devices so hopefully others can chime in with apps or a workaround to the apparent limitation of the MS Word app on the iOS to save files to NAS devices.

Thanks - yeah with Android it works just fine :wink:

Talked to WD support - apparently this is not possible, making the MyCloud App for iOS partly unusable in my eyes…

If anybody knows a good workaround - I’d appreciate it!
