I just bought a WD Elements Desktop 1,5 TB for my Mac OS X 10.4.11 and formatted it to Mac OS Extended (journaled) as described in the knowledge base on wdc.custhelp.cm. When I try to copy my pictures folder (of 35GB) from Finder into the WD drive, after a while I just get the error code 36 saying “finder could not complete the operation because some data in X could not be read or written”. I have tried deleting the specified file but just get the same error next time I try copying. I have also tried reparing the disk permissions. I have searched the internet for solutions but have’nt found any that works for my problem. Please help! Thanks

Hello,
Have you try transfer the information by parts, for example from 10 to 10 GB? Also try to reformat your drive again and select a different file system.
