EX2 - Unable to connect / browse from different PC during copy

Hi,

I’ve recently purchased an 8TB WD EX2 to be used as a general purpose storage area / file server in our medium sized business network.

It all seems to be working well with a couple of shares all accessible from anyone on the network.

The main purpose is to run a few scheduled backups to the NAS box each night.

I’ve noticed today that whilst moving some large amounts of data (200GB) from a local hard drive on a server to the NAS that I am unable to access it from any other PC or server on the network.

For example, I’m copying 200GB of data from a local hard disk on a physical server and it’s going fine. When I try to browse to the share via file explorer on my PC (\NAS Name\Share) I am unable to do so. I can’t even ping to box by name or IP. It just reports that it is unreachable.

Any ideas? Can the EX2 only be written one at a time? Is this by design or is there a setting I may have not configured properly?

Any help appreciated.
