EX2100 w/ Windows 10 and El Capitan

I cannot login to my EX 2100 from Windows 10 and El Capitan machines via SMB.

Here’s what I see in /var/log/user.log:

2015-10-02T16:34:16.104702-04:00 di=ZCM57ITZVl 4 blaster SAMBA: CIFS: Authentication for user [xxx] has FAILED.
2015-10-02T16:34:16.106259-04:00 di=ZCM57ITZVl 4 blaster SAMBA: CIFS: Authentication for user [xxx] has FAILED.
2015-10-02T16:34:16.108039-04:00 di=ZCM57ITZVl 4 blaster SAMBA: CIFS: Authentication for user [xxx] has FAILED.
2015-10-02T16:34:16.110179-04:00 di=ZCM57ITZVl 4 blaster SAMBA: CIFS: Authentication for user [xxx] has FAILED.

Since I cannot login, I cannot access private shares at all, so I have to make all shares public to access them.  Obviously this isn’t ideal.  Are there plans to fix this in a future firmware update?  Or is there some kind of workaround?

I don’t recall having problems until my firmware auto-updated to 2.10.302.

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

Try to reset the unit to see if this can help with the problem. You can do this by pressing the reset button located on the back of the unit for four seconds, here is a link that might help you with this:
