Ext. USB 3TB WD MyBook connected to ShareSpace not showing as share

I have a ShareSpace with 2.3.02 latest firmware.  I have connected a 3TB External WD MyBook to the front USB1 port.  The drive shows up under Storage>USB Shares as “USB Disk 1-1” with status=Good, but it does not show up in Storage>FolderShares automatically.  Therefore, I cannot access it via [\WDShareName\USB1-1share1](file://%5C%5CWDShareName%5CUSB1-1share1) like the other drives I have in port 2 and 3 on the rear.  I have tried to create a folder share, but USB doesn’t show up as an option.  The other 2 drives that are working had their folder shares created automatically when they were connected to the ShareSpace originally, but this new drive doesn’t show up.

FYI, the other 2 drives are Fantom 2TB drives and they show up fine and I can access them via UNC fine.

The new WD 3TB WD that I am trying to access is already formatted as NTFS and has files on it already and works fine when connected to a computer.

Does anyone know why I can’t access it when connected to the ShareSpace?

Thanks

the reason why you can not do that is because that USB port in the front of the unit is only to backup the sharespace automatically with the backup botton right next to it.

I have the same problem, even down to the WD 3TB drive I’m trying to add.  However, I’m plugged into the back of the Worldbook and it still won’t show up under folder shares.  Any ideas?

The reason seems to be ShareSpace’s inability to handle NTFS GPT partition format required for drives greater than 2TB.

It would be nice to either get the firmware update or at least confirmation from WD.
