Welcome to the WD Community.
Have you tried using a data recovery software on a different computer?
Omer,
I don’t know exactly what your situation is but I have a very similar situation with my device but a lot more complicated. When I plug in my WD external hard drive and turn it on, it makes loud click sound every five seconds and the click sound stops after about 3-4 times. At the same time, my pc shows that it is installing the device driver (even though the CD is not in the CD-ROM drive) and then after a few seconds, pc message says “now the device is ready for use.” But when I go to Windows Explorer, the device is not listed. When I check the device properties from “Devices and Printers,” it says “This device is working properly.”
I have tried all the suggested methods in the FAQ and nothing works. But I have not tried data recovery software because I don’t know how. That’s my story. I hope I don’t have to end up losing all the data on the drive. Anyone has any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
