Just deployed this device - EX 2 Ultra. I am getting an error on backup that I didn’t receive with my previous WD EX 2. The only difference is the “ultra”. Anyway, the error message is:
Directory does not exist on Destination and cannot be created: An attempt was made to create more links on a file than the file system supports.
I’m sure it’s some kind of setting but comparing it to the other straight EX 2 devices that we are still using, the config looks the same.
What is the name of the backup program you are using? How is the network configured? Is this happening from a particular system or folder, or does it happen with all computers and folders?
The program I use is syncback se. I have 2 other WD MyCloud devices including the one I just replaced with this model that have always worked fine in the past. It seems like it just won’t create files on the NAS. The folder tree is just 3 folders deep where this folder would be created. I can’t imagine that would be the limit on file structure since the device I replaced worked just fine in this scenario. The only difference is the addition of the “ultra” model of NAS.
