Files seen in explorer...but not on WDTV

To begin:

I had a lot of movies on a backup drive and simply connected via USB to transfer all my movies to the WDTV local drive. Those work fine.

Windows 7:

I can see the WDTVLIVEHUB show up under Network, and I can seemingly transfer files to it. I can go to \WDTVLIVEHUB and it directs me to both the WDTVLiveHub share and the External_Seagate_Drive share which is attached via USB to the WDTV Live Hub. I go to the path \WDTVLIVEHUB\WDTVLiveHub\Movies\ where all my movies are stored. In this folder, I’ve been adding more movies from my PC. It even takes a good 5-6min to push the movie to the new location…which according to the filepath, is the WDTV Live Hub. However, I checked the Videos and Files areas of the WDTV Live Hub (in front of the TV, using the Hub, not via my PC over the network), and none of the new movies that were added via the “drag and drop” show up in the folders when I’m at my TV. I checked my PC again, and the Movie folder in the network path shows the new movies.

I tried rebooting the WDTV Live Hub thinking it may need to refresh, but even as it came back up, none of the new movies were visible. I even changed one of the folder names as a test. On the PC, I see the new folder name. On the WDTV Live Hub in front of the TV, the folder name stayed the same.

I also checked the external drive in case I was saving them there by accident, but the new movies are not there either.

My question is…what!? Am I missing something? Unless there’s another network drive by the same name that I’m unaware of which came online the same day I plugged in the WDTV Live Hub, then where could I possibly be saving new movies to?

1st, you’re in the wrong forum.  This forum is for the Live, Live+.

The Hub forum is here:

2nd:   Your procedure is sound.   Do you have MEDIA LIBRARY enabled?   For some reason, some people have this issue, and others never do (like me.)  Try doing a complete “CLEAR MEDIA LIBRARY” from the setup menu to see if it then updates correctly.

What you should see on screen is that, as soon as the new movie is copied over, the screen will say “Compiling Media LIbrary…”  and after it’s done, the updates are visible.  Certainly REBOOTING the box should force an update, as well…

This problem has already been posted a few times and what works for me, as I experienced this problem too, is explained in my other post here http://community.wdc.com/t5/General-Discussions/Compiling-Library/m-p/175536#M9195
