Firmware upgraded - still cannot create Time Machine Backup

Hi there

I have a My Cloud EX2 Ultra 16TB.

My firmware version is 2.21.119 and my NAS is telling me it’s up to date.

However, I can’t complete a Time Machine Backup - I keep getting an error saying " Time Machine couldn’t back up to “MyCloudEX2Ultra”. "

Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

Hello there,

It would seem that this version of the firmware helps with time machine backup issues. Try to see if you can set a static IP on the unit and then see if you get the same result when trying to make a time machine backup.

I set it up with a static IP when I first bought the unit in June. It was working perfectly fine - but since 2 December it hasn’t been able to back up.

Any other ideas?

After a couple of weeks, it just started working - weird!
