I’m currently still on 2.04.13 , is anybody on anything above and are they having theme issues? Any reason for me to go to 2.05? thanks
Yes, both 2.05 & 2.06 have issues, mostly text issues. Both releases have problems with overly long text overlapping the given space that it is suppose to occupy (2.05 is worse than 2.06) and this is even true with the OSD (Mochi) theme.
So I guess I’ll stick with 4 for now. Thanks

I am having a play with Gimp and folder pictures at the moment.
Its saving PNG files as folder.png fine, reflections and all.
Using these at the moment and resizing them.

Hey wdtvhub,
I didn’t spend much time using 2.06.10 due to the text issues. But are you saying that the folder icons are showing up with png transparency or is it with a solid reflection?
Mmmm I’m a bit lacking when it comes to certain terminology.
But if you mean can I scale and paste the Icons I linked to, with their empty background transparency then no.
But no as in the Hub puts its own white background behind it.
But the quality of the png is great, and you don’t have to rename, a simple layer behind the pictures I am using highlights the reflections as well.
So I think maybe the Idea we need is not use PNGs for folders, but enable transparency ?
Yes, I already have that Idea HERE. And you could use pngs as folders before now, but not as true .pngs (which means as a transparent image).
Ah I saw things saying rename etc. Is it not a quick fix then you think.
If I can use PNGs with transparency for …video_browse_gallery_thumbnail_default.png
Then surely it must be a quick fix for folder png files, at the end of the day, if I delete all those images from the gallery, it goes back to a standard selectable black box with green folder, but when I add a png, it can be transparent and not limited to an outer box shape either.
Uhh, I think you lost me.
If your asking if you can get the same result for the folder image as you do for the default image, then no. The firmware handles those images differently.
And when you delete something, like an image, the theme reverts back to the Mochi theme. So if you delete, say video_browse_gallery_thumnail_default.png in the theme that you are using, then the HUB will use the image from the OSD (Mochi) theme that is in the firmware. The only way for that image not to appear, is to have a completely transparent image in its place.
Yeah
I meant a quick fix for them (maybe), obviously its hard coded as such, but if you can show a transparent png at all on the box, then the way the box reads it must be there in the first place ?
For example, I have a small transparent folder for the default folders now, and I also have transparent film reels for default movies with no cover.
What I dont know, is how hard it would be for them to code something that changes all the time, as in folder.png files created every time you add a new film.
So then it’s still not possibe, I would like, as well as mnay other folks, the abilty to use transparent png as folder icons, no black or white background, this would allow for shapes other than rectangle style. hoping WD will implement it.
