Hi
I’ve only brought the WD TV LIve HD yesterday and so impressed with it. I was wondering how do i get the films and folders to come up in genre, I put the info in on itunes but it hasn’t come up on WD TV, I am using an external HD with all my films on to stream the movies. Do I need to hook it upto my internet to get the genre part to work??
Hope you can help
cheers
Also when I go into view mode and select to see the DVD artwork, how come most of my DVD covers are there but miss some others?? I put them into itunes to add the artwork too and the artwork is in the DVD’s folder but still the artwork doesn’t appear on the WD TV Live HD?? any ideas??
I’m not sure what you’re talking about when you talk about genre – AFAIK there is no such ability in the Live (then again, I don’t use the media library function).
Thumbs that don’t appear come down to one of three things – either the thumb is too big (opinion varies on this, but keeping them under 70K is a safe bet) or they aren’t named properly (naming is case sensitive and because spaces or other odd characters are hard to see it’s best to copy the file name and use that for your thumb name with cut and paste). The third issue is they just don’t work – sometimes even keeping them small and naming properly just doesn’t work and I haven’t been able to find out why. In those cases using a thumb that DOES work (from another file) will help and then switch the name to the right image (kind of bait and switch).
And in all these cases don’t forget that sometimes you need to erase the tiny WD file/folder on your root drive (which contains a cache of these thumbs and can make chasing your tail difficult).
awesome thanks for the reply mate, will have a look thanks once again.
