From EX4 To PR4100

Hi all,

I just received my WD PR4100 Pro 32TB. I haven’t unbox it yet. I have an EX4 20TB with nearly 10TB full. I want to copy my files to the WD PR4100 Pro 32TB which will be the one I use. I will then shutdown the EX4 ( NO POWER ON) to secure my files.

What’s the best way to copy my files over?

Thanks

Hi,

You can either copy the files manually over the network or you can use the remote backup option on the EX4.

See page 55 of the user manual for detailed information.

Thanks ERmorel,

What I’ve done after I connected the PR4100 to the same network, I created shared folders with administration rights and use the WD Access program —> MyCloudPR4100 ----> Upload Files. Then go to EX4 ----> Inside Movie Folder, I then copied the movies to Movie folder in PR4100.

I repeated the same thing for Folder Movie II, then iPad Movie Folder, and so on.

Since I have about 10TB to copy over, I do each movie folder (Movies I, Movie,II,…) one at a time which has lots of movies inside each. I haven’t turned off my computer for 24 hours. Once I send the command, is the PC still needed? Both EX4 and PR4100 are on the network.

Thanks
