I just bought the Live HUB and had the same problem with network shares as a lot of you have. But I got it to work…
I have a ext. WD MYBOOKWORLD 4TB nas for my movies but couldnt get the HUB to see the shares, only through media server. The only thing I did was make a new folder share on the NAS, gave it all access - and restarted the HUB (you know, pull the plug and all that 
) - and bingbong there it was NETWORK SHARES!!!
