Hard Drive Full?

I woke up this morning to find my WD TV Live Hub hard drive with only about 250 gb of media saved is now reporting to be full and won’t let me add more media.  I’ve tried resetting the box but no success.  Any ideas on how to correct the problem before I return it to the store?

Yeah, connect to it via your PC and see exactly what it thinks it’s full of!

\ipaddress\wdtvlivehub

Where ipaddress is the IP Address of your hub

will connect you to the Hub’s drive (assuming you have it networked) and you can explore it.

Tony, thanks for the reply.  I did connect it to my PC for a look and confirmed there was only about 250 gb of content.  I ended up reformatting the drive to get the space back but of course lost the media.  Fortunately I had all the content backed up on my NAS.   Because recopying the content is pretty time consuming,  I’m concerned about why this happened and if it will happen again?  :frowning:

By watching how fast the internal hard drive starting using up space I discovered that if you use the Gallery view for a lot of movies (40+), the hub loads the Metadata on to the internal drive and if you’re not careful you can easily use up several gigs of space.  I am using a NAS to store the movie content and will likely only have enough room on the internal drive for photos, music and the metadata for my movie collection.

Really?   I have 140 movies with Metadata…  only 1 meg used so far.  :)

The THEMES can take a lot of space… (Legacy uses about 16 Meg)
