So I’m returning my Mycloud to Amazon minus the hard drive, what’s the easiest way to extract the files from it please?
you can not extract files from it unless you enabled local access prior to the outage.
you will know if you did this if the light on the box is solid white
if its blinking then you did not
The hard drive is removed from the device
You would use an adapter to plug the drive into your computer, then use a Linux emulator to see the folders. There are free emulators out there. Look at YouTube for some videos on it. It isn’t that hard.

Mine is blinking too. Is there anything I can do to recover data or is it all lost?
Can I just ask, to clear this up in my head, “the hard drive is removed”, from The MYCloud Home?
How did you accomplish that? I can’t see a way of opening it
edit - I found the hidden screws
Check YouTube for step by step instructions. It splits in the middle. You have to pry gently so as not to break the tabs.
Thanks for the reply. I had already discovered the hidden screws under the rubber feet, as I said in my edit on my post. It has since been dismantled
