HELP! After having unplugged my My Cloud for a day I can't reconnect with it the next. PLEASE HELP!

Hello everyone. I’m currently living in the city of Houston and I’m sure you’ve all been watching the national news. Thanks to hurricane Harvey we’ve had intermittent tornados dropping all over various parts of the city. As a result my wife and i received an alert and I quickly grabbed my My Cloud device, unplugged it from the power source and Ethernet cable, and ran into the bathroom. Fortunately nothing happened to the house. So the next day after everything calmed down I attempted to reconnect my device to both the power source and the Ethernet cable and all I get is a blinking yellow-orange flashing light instead of the blue.

I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting. Nothing works! I have very important files on this device. What should I do!!!

Can you ping the My Cloud from your PC? Try resetting the router. Can you access the dashboard?

I can not access the dashboard. tried no dice. I haven’t tried resetting the router yet. I’ll give that a shot. And no I can’t ping it from my pc.

Is the My Cloud connected to the router?
Have you tried replacing the wire between the My Cloud and router?
Have you tried using a different networking port on the router?
Can you connect the My Cloud directly to a computer’s networking port? If so does the front LED continue to flash anything other than Blue?
Was there any water damage done to the router, Ethernet wiring, or the My Cloud?
Can you access the network router? If so does the router indicate the My Cloud is connected to the router’s networking port?
Can you access the My Cloud Dashboard by using the My Cloud IP address in the web browser?
Have you tried powering down the My Cloud and router. Waiting five to ten minutes, then powering backup the router. Waiting five minutes for the router to stabilize, then power on the My Cloud.
Does the router have a broadband connection?
Have you tried resetting the router?
Have you tried a 40 second reset on the My Cloud?

Moving on to the other suggestions

@: Bennor

Hey bro thanks for all the suggestions! I finally got it to work. It appears that either my gigaswitch is damaged or my hardline to the router in the other room is screwed. I just hooked up the device straight to the router and everything was alright.

So I didn’t think to do something so simple until you asked the questions but thanks. I deeply appreciate it! Be blessed my friend.
