Help me please ! After resetting the system has ceased to show signs of life

I connected to the device MyCloud via “ssh” and type a team “upt-get upgrade”. After resetting the system has ceased to show signs of life.

What firmware version are you using? And why did you perform an “apt-get”?

The proper way to upgrade the My Cloud firmware is through the My Cloud Dashboard.

On the older v4.x firmware My Clouds performing an “apt-get” may brick the My Cloud. Which is what appears you have done. The cause is due to the 64K page file size the custom Linux OS uses in the v4.x firmware.

You can do a subforum search, magnifying glass icon upper right, for “unbrick” and follow one of the various unbricking methods for the single bay My Cloud units.

It should be noted that if one searches for “apt-get” they’d see this is a common problem and many posts tell people NOT to perform an “apt-get” on the My Cloud firmware.

Thank you

apt-get upgrade usually bricks the device. If your still under warranty they may replace it for you but technically ssh is voiding the warrenty
