Help with remote web login

I have seen something about the wd2go site being down - fine - but - what can I now use to remotely access My drives. I am in desperate need whilst away to set up new user accounts to have access. I can see the data using the desktop app but, I need to have remote acess to the dashboard and this seems to be down or not working - is there a new site to login or ???

Please help urgent Thanks

EX2 is not supposed to be using the wd2go relay site.

I was using before and so now how can I remotely access My cloud to set up users ? And isnt the point meant to be remote access so how can I do this - as said was able to before?

I cant even use the http://mycloud url to work anymore - obviously I use My clouds real name… but, as said this seems to have now made this device obsolete if cant access remotely so what is the point - I could just use a drive in a caddy to just have storage - the point of this was the remote acess and to be able to share folders to other users and set up remotely without having be home to set up the accounts as cant invisage who I need set up till away and kinda defeats the purpose.

So whatever they have done has now made this obsolete ? is that what telling Me - then I need a refund…

Else I just want a way to do what I bought it for and could do previously to remote log in and set up users to share folders.

This is what I am wanting to access remotely on my own drive- I dont care how…

Well, this is the EX2 sub-forum. But your last reply mentions the url mycloud, which is for the My Cloud product, not My Cloud EX2. But I am not sure if you have the 2-bay EX2 or the 1-bay My Cloud product. The My Cloud product does use the wd2go service but its sub-forum is different. Most folks reading this are EX2 owners and can’t offer help about the wd2go relay service. If you have My Cloud and not the EX2, then your post belongs here →   http://community.wd.com/t5/My-Cloud/bd-p/mycloud

I have the ex2 product and after some help - surely can understand what I am asking rather than carry on about possibly being in the wrong sub-forum. I am wanting help to the question asked and not just told - it cant do it or shouldnt do it and then a paragraph on being in wrong forum - you are about as much help as a chocolate teapot.

If cant help dont bother to reply… geez…

Telling you that you are in the wrong forum is helpful.

The MyCloud and MyCloud EX2 are completely different products, running different operating systems and firmware builds.

Then, since these are User forums, not WD tech support, you will find far more users with experience of EX2 on the EX2 forum than on the plain MyCloud forum; we don’t own EX2 devices…

ps try looking at some of the sticky pots about the changes to wd2go and new apps. We’re all unhappy about the service termination, but there’s nothing we can do about it but nag WD and wait for the launch.

If you can’t even access http://wdmyclod local to your network, then something has failed with your network or your DNS resolution. Has your router rebooted recently and allocated a different IP address via DHCP? Has your EX2 done a firmware upgrade? Does it need a system only restore?

[This thread appears to be yo-yoing between MyCloud and EX2 forums. I replied when it was on the MyCloud forum]

Agree with cpt_paranoia’s comments fully - EX2 and My Cloud are very different products, with very different operating systems. And yes, EX2 never had the wd2go service. I HAVE owned an EX2 since the product’s launch a year and half ago. If you look in the EX2 manual ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/?id=445&type=25&cn=4779-705119 ), you will not find any mention of wd2go site.

You just signed up on the forum less than a day ago and already showing your true colors. Good luck finding help from people with that attitude.

Well I have used My ex2 through the wd2go site to access the dashboard. So ermmm - if you have had from launch and not been able to then somethng wrong there… As I have been able to.

https://files.mycloud.com

that is what I always used to login and view the dashboard of My ex2 device. so how has it worked for Me and not you since you had from launch and apprarently such the expert to say it does not work and never had… welll contry to your opinion and perhaps lack of understanding - it has always worked for Me.

I am able to view the dashboard whilst on home network but this was bought for remote access and had preiviously worked as aforementioned but not the site seems to be down and not allow any logins. I had also been able to connect directly with http://namecloud (obviously substituting name for the actual name but would also bring up a login screen and connect to My cloud

I can access the media easily enough but this is not what is needed - I need to acess the dashboard to set up users etc. Even when loging in dirtectly on home network to set up remote access it directs me to site to be used for remote access which it uses as - www.wd2go.com wow - fancy that the actuall os running on My ex2 sends Me to this site to use to remote log in - although the face it is now down and not working but, yet funny how apparently this site is nothing to do with the ex2 yet its own os sends Me there to login remotely… how strramge… lol obviously myself and the os running must be wrong compared to this user who knows obviously everything from launch and ex2 never used or mentioned this site… lol…

anyway - as said perhaps if anyone out there has some real help for use to connect to my dashboard remotely be appreciatetd - else dont bother to put opinions of why it not or never worked when it obviously HAS… Oh an try reading through some of the many comments on here that do infact mention that ex2 used the login site …
