I have a HDMI-capable LCD that works great with WD TV. I want to get it working on an older Rear Projection CRT that has only composite and component input. I’ve read the posts on the many problems people are having using component connections to WD TV Live, but I can’t even get the composite to work. I get composite working fine on the LCD, turn off the WD TV, reconnect to the CRT, and get jumble on the screen. Thanks for any assist.
P.S. I am trying to get composite working on the CRT so I can then get component working on the CRT. But without seeing the menus through composite it’s sort of challenging to try all the setting options to get component working. I don’t have an easy way to input via component to the LCD (have to remove the TV from the wall).
If the composite input does not work on the TV it might be because the composite output is set to the wrong format. If you hold the reset button for more than 10 seconds the composite output switches between NTSC (US) and PAL (most of the rest of the world). Try holding down the reset button for at least 10 seconds and see if your TV will sync .
Scandy, no go, but thanks for the suggestion. Toggling the reset goes from diagonal lines to blank with occasional lines flashing. Just tried my camcorder into the same inputs and the composite worked fine.
Have you tried just pressing the bottom paperclip reset for about 2 seconds with the unit on. I have to assume that you are connected to the composite via the yellow rca output and the lead is OK.
