turned off (no front LED) and now won’t come back on even after pushing the reset button on the back. The cloud icon keeps turning and the message says not to turn it off during the reboot process.
How do I get MyCloud back so that I can continue shooting in the dark in my attempts to clean it and start over?
First what color is the front LED on the My Cloud? If blue that indicates the My Cloud has booted up and can be accessed.
Second, if you have done a reset the IP address of the My cloud might have changed. This affects the web browser’s ability to access the My Cloud. One may have to use the correct IP address to access the Dashboard.
The following WD Knowledgebase article explains how to perform a 4 second and 40 second reset.
If one is having trouble, perform a 40 second reset. It is also possible that the system check is still running and it may take some time to complete.
One can perform a complete system reset that wipes the user data via the Dashboard > Settings > Utilities > Quick Restore. If one does a Full Restore it may take a very long time for the My Cloud to securely wipe the My Cloud hard drive.
