How can I see what percentage of my drive has been indexed?

It’s been several days since I set up my EX2 Ultra drive, and I started off by copying a rather large number of RAW files over from my laptop. I still have more to go, but it’s become VERY slow to use the drive to try and sort the one’s I’ve already copies (to the point that it’s minutes to load previews on my laptop).

When I try to view the cause of this in the Dashboard, smbd and top are the primary users of the CPU and httpd is the primary user of RAM.

Looking around a bit, it seems this is a known “issue” related to the indexing of the device after large file transfers to allow for thumbnails and things to be generated, but I cannot seem to see if this is the case on my device right now. Previously the “Cloud” part of the dash did mentioned “Generating…” but this has since disappeared and the CPU/RAM use has not changed.

Really, all this is a long way of asking: Is it possible to view the percentage of the device that has been indexed so far at all without voiding my warranty by turning on SSH? If so, how would I go about doing this?

Thank you!
