My Passport is FAT32 formatted now but unable to copy 4GB & bigger files from Mac to the external hard drive with the message “The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code 0)”. Is there a solution to this? Please help.
Simply put, you can’t. FAT32 does not support files larger than 4GB as it is an extremely old file system. If you want to copy files larger than 4GB to your drive, then format the drive to HFS+ on disk utility.
If you are using the drive on both Mac and Windows format the drive NTFS for Windows then on the Mac download and install NTFS-3G http://mac-free.com/download/NTFS-3G.html and it will work on both.
