from a command prompt on your PC run IPCONFIG /ALL this will give you the netmask, gateway and DNS entry
all devices on the typical home network will use the same values for these.
you do need to get access to your router for 2 reasons, first to change to a non-default password to reduce the chance of being hacked. next to find an IP address outside of the DHCP pool to assign to the mycloud or just set a reserved IP for the mycloud in the router and leave the mycloud as DHCP

If the router is a Virgin SuperHub, it appears that the Administrator password is set to a non-unique value. Poor practice on Virginās part; my Technicolor router has a unique admin passwordā¦
I hope the āpassphraseā (the SSID password) is uniqueā¦
I couldnāt find a real user manual on their website, just a noddy āhow to connect your routerā guideā¦
Ah; I added āAdministratorā to the google search string, and it found this. Shame it didnāt have a link to that article on the basic setup page⦠And that āarticleā is still pretty poor; I found myself going round in circles, and didnāt find a way to change a Deviceās IP addressing mode.
This video looks promising, though.
Iām assuming the OP has a Virgin Superhub 2ā¦
esolved. WD support responded and helped me. I have now mapped drives and have ethernet cable attached - all working faster.Ā
Thanks all for your support
