How the connection between WD and NAS servers works during "Relay Connection"

How the connection between WD and NAS servers works during “Relay Connection”. What ports are used on the router and on the WD MY Cloud.

Here is what is found in a Knowledge Base search.

If you click on the WDMyCloudInfoIcon beside the shown connection there should be more information.

When one sets the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > Cloud Access > Remote Access > Configure from Auto to Manual one would specify the specific ports to use. Generally the default ports are 80 and 443. One can specificy alternate ports, for example 8080 and 4443. When using the Manual option one also has to setup Port Forwarding of the two manually specified ports within the network router the My Cloud is connected to so the router properly routes the two manual ports to the My Cloud.

Example of the Manual dialog box with alternate ports:

There may some some additional information available on which ports the My Cloud is using that one can discover using SSH.
