Hi,
My WD is connected to a router but don’t have internet access. I can access it with ps4 and laptop but not through mobile app. I did turn off remote access but still unable to access. Please help me.
You will need to use a file manager app on the iPad that supports accessing the local network. Don’t know about a PS4 but the PS4 would need to be able to access the local network using some sort of file manager program/app in order to access the My Cloud.
Also either device could use a DLNA client to access media serving content on the local network My Cloud.
Assuming you have a local network (wired/wifi router) to which the MyCloud is connected, the WD Mobile App should be able to access the MyCloud locally; I have remote access disabled, and only use local connection between the Mobile app on my Android phone and the MyCloud, for photo/video backup.
In the Mobile app, try deleting the MyCloud from the devices list (menu/Manage devices), and re-connecting. For local access, it will ask for your MyCloud account credentials.
For any real file management operations, I don’t use the Mobile app; I use a proper file manager app…
For iOS, use FIle Browser app on iPad. You can try the free version, but most likely you will need the paid version. It costs only six bucks and is worth it!
