I created a USB backup up job that copies certain directories from My Cloud to an easyStore 4T USB external HDD connected directly to the My Cloud box. The job is set to synchronize the source with the destination. Is there a way I can set this process up to run on a schedule?
What backup software are you suing to backup the My Cloud to the external USB hard drive? Are you using Safepoint (first gen v4.x single bay My Cloud units) or Backup (second gen v2.xx single bay My Cloud units)? Is the USB drive connected to the My Cloud or to a computer?
If you are using Backup (second gen v2.x single bay My Cloud) then there is no official method for setting a schedule like there is with Safepont (first gen My Cloud units). Instead one may have to use CRON (accessible via SSH) to schedule backup jobs using Rsync. Use the forum search feature to find additional information about using Rsync and CRON.
If one has a first gen v4.x single bay My Cloud they can configure Safepoint to backup on a schedule.
