I just want to know if it’s possible to download a video I got on my MY CLOUD to my Iphone.
The probleme is that I got the applicationb WD PHOTO that allows me to download pictures to my iphone, but I didn’t found a solution for the videos.
I also got the WD MY CLOUD application that allow me to upload any kind of document and média. There is apparently a possibility to download (when you’re on the file you want, you switch on it and then there you can download, copy/past, erase …) but when I click on “download” the application act like it’s been downloaded but I can see it on my Iphone.
Is there actually a solution for it ? Thanks you in advance for your help

Yes but I can’t see the video on my PHOTO application on my Iphone. I want to export the videos from the WD MY CLOUD to the PHOTO app just like it’s possible for the pictures via the WD PHOTO app.
You can’t, but you can view them using the WD My Cloud app if you have the right apps to view them. You will need to check for the Apple apps that are available for your phone to play them. For more info use link below.
Yes. You can download a video from your MyCloud to your iPhone and watch it later on a trip, on the plane, etc. I don’t know about the WD PHOTO app but if you download VLC to your iPhone and use it, you can use its FTP function to connect to your MyCloud and snag whatever videos you want for viewing later, also using VLC.
How to:
Using the VLC iPhone app, go to the “Local Network” setting (assuming you’re at home and connected via wifi to your network). When I do this both my MyClouds appear and I can at this point navigate to a video folder and stream a movie to my iPhone while at home. I could not successfully download my test AVI file from here. I had to go to the “Connect to Server” option, for FTP, farther down the “Local Network” screen. Once configured, this allows you to FTP to your MyCloud and download from there very easily. I use the static IP of my MyCloud to FTP - (192.168.1.10, username: admin, and of course my password). Connecting at this point will put you in to your MyCloud shares. Once you find your video you can initiate the download by clicking on the little downward arrow on the right hand side. (If you just click on the file itself it will stream and play) There is no progress bar, only the spinning circle at the top near the wifi strength indicator. Don’t close down your iPhone during the download. The screen will stay on. I think at one point I shut the screen off and that suspended the download giving an error later. So downloading is a little tedious depending on how big your files are but hang in there. Once completed (spinning circle disappears) you can go back up to “All Files” in VLC (top choice) and your download(s) are there. Pick whatever you want to watch. You’re self contained at this point. You’re limited of course by the amount of free memory you have in your iPhone but depending on how you encode your videos and using formats supported by VLC, you can go mobile with a few full length videos to choose from. The one I happened to use for this test was a 3hr video in AVI format which was about 1.5 GB.

For my initial question, it was about download the video to the PHOTO app on the Iphone. For example, if I want to download a video and after share it on facebook or instagram you see? I really want to know if it’s possible to find the video on the native photo app of the Iphone just like it’s possible to download pictures from the cloud to the native photo app.
If I understand your question correctly, you’re asking why you can’t find a video after downloading it using WD Photos. If that’s correct, then you need to understand that you can’t download a video using WD Photos. To download a video to your phone from a WD My Cloud, you will need to use the WD My Cloud App. We used to have WD2go. Now, it’s the WD My Cloud. You can find it on the Apple store.
Keep in mind, that if you’re looking to play a file in a native format, then you should be okay with the native app on your iPhone. If you’re looking to play files that are not natively compatible with the phone, you will need to download a third party app capable of playing those files.

I want to do the same but with the videos on my MY CLOUD. And I can’t find how to do it. I tried on the WD MY CLOUD app and i never show on the CAMERA ROLL so I can use it to mms, instagram, facebook or anaything else. I just don’t see it.
So maybe it’s not possible or maybe I’m doing the wrong manipulation ? That’s why I want someone to clarify this please

If the video shows up on your phone, when you download it, then the My Cloud app did what it was supposed to do. However, you will need to check with Apple concerning Camera Roll. As far as I know, you can’t use Camera Roll to share out a video. That’s because of DRM, Digital Rights Management. Apple won’t allow Cameral Roll to share out potentially pirated videos. And of course, once you start sharing out a video, it could be considered pirating. Now, I have seen that in iOS7 that may change, but you still need to find out from Apple what the conditions of that are.
My problem is that I can select download from my WD my cloud but I don’t know where it’s stored on my iPad nor how to play it from my iPad. I just updated to I OS8, and that might be a problem. In the MyCloud app there is an option to download a movie, and when I do that I can see a little arrow indicating it’s in operation. But I don’t know how to find the movie on my iPad nor how to deleted to save space after I watched it off line.
