Huge annoying problem with live hub

Hi there Im  a new user on this forum, I used a hd live box before buying the wd live hub, anyway I have this exstremely annoying problem with the box, maybe others have encountered this problem too:

everytime I press any of the arrows or trying to enter any menu, it just switches like crazy between all the menus and options running from side to side and up and down , just one push and all **bleep** breaks loose, making it almost impossible to enter menus at all. I have now downgraded it to the original firmware, without solving the problem at all. First i thought maybe the remote was broken, so I used my old one from the live hd box but it continued with the same problem. Meaning I believe its some kind of firmware / software based problem in the payer itself. Which pretty much P… me off, paying 200$ for the box and it turns out my old live hd actually performs much better without any problems at all. 

I thought this one would be awesome and then my roku and apple tv box out performs this without any problems at all.

So my question is thsi: any one having the same problem or heard about something simular, or have any idea on how to solve this problem??

any help appreciated, also if any wdc folks are reading this

Nope… there’s no firmware issues that would account for that.

A couple of possibilities to check:

1- CFL lights or sunlight interfering with IR receiption.    Turn ALL the lights off in the room, and wait til after dark.

2- Another remote in the room with a button mashed down.

3- A hardware defect.

Try resetting the hub. Press the bottom paperclip reset button for a couple of seconds and then release with the hub fully booted up. You will lose any ‘Get Content info’ but your files will be OK.

thanks for replies, none have been working and returning it its kinda out of the question, since i picked it up in NYC and lives in europe, but I actually rolled back the firm ware to the original and started to update it again, until it hits firmware 2.04.13 and its starts with the problem again, again i reset and roll back but the problem  are staying right now. so im  thinking reformatting the hard drive and see if that will solve it, but as right now, im not sure where the firmware are installed, bur when i reinstall the firmware ill start off with the original release on usb stcik and the  move right to 2.05.08 and then to the lastest firmware release. I have not had any other problems, but this one is one annoying ■■■■■■ and if i dont get it to work, ill throw this one away and use my old wd box

Are you using a voltage converter?    If not, Is the power supply that was shipped with it rated for the power system you’re using?
