If i recall correctly, you can only do the remote backups to a EX unit or another Mycloud mirror, here is a link that might help set this up:

You can but it would be a bit advanced…
If you enable ssh and can ssh from one to the other, you can use rsync (internet is your friend).
For security though, it is recommended root is not allowed to login remotely. It is just a good Linux/security practice.
