Installation search can't find the WD Live Duo on the network

Hi, 

I have been given my brothers used My Book Live Duo and I am trying to install it on my MacBook. My MacBook will find it in Finder and I can accsess it fine, but when I run the WB My Book Live Duo Setup program it cant fint it on my network. 

Any help? 

I have tried to log on to my router to make sure DHCP is on and UPnP is on.

I am connected to a 4G router by Relish (UK Provider).

Hi there, welcome to the community.

Are you able to access the drive manually even if the software is not recognizing the drive? Have you checked if they are within the same IP range?

I am able to access it and look at films and photos that are on the drive, but it is a read only access so I can’t make new folders or add anything to the drive. 

Yes they are within the same IP range.

are there no one that can help? should i just get rid of my WD drive as it doesnt work on my network?
