I cannot locate my NAS (mycloud) when it is connected to my router, There is no problem when it is connected directly to my laptop, I have tried a reset on gthe NAS and on the router but nothing works. I use it primarily as a store for music to play through my Sonos system. Can anyone help please.
Is it the computer that cannot access the My Cloud when the My Cloud is connected to the router? Or is it the Sonos system that cannot see the My Cloud? Can you access the My Cloud Dashboard (ex. http://wdmycloud) using a web browser? Are all the devices on the same local network?
If it is the Sonos system, use the forum search feature (magnifying glass icon upper right) and search for “Sonos”. There are several prior discussions on issues with the Sonos and the My Cloud with some possible workarounds.
If the computer cannot find the My Cloud then try to access the My Cloud using the My Cloud IP address. One may be able to find the My Cloud IP Address through their local router’s administration page.
Sometimes a 40 second reset can clear certain configuration issues and reset the My Cloud back to default. Note a 40 second reset does not affect user data.
If your ISP is At&t uverse, there is a known incompatibility with the MyCloud, that prevent the MyCloud establishing a connection to the router. Putting an Ethernet switch between them allows the connection to be made.
This problem has only existed for the last 6 months, previous to that I had no issues. I am now trying to point the sonos system back to the NAS using the sonos app on my laptop, but the laptop cannot find the NAS via the WiFi network

Time to go back to basics.
Can you think of anything that changed in your network six months ago?
What is the front panel LED indicating?
What are the Ethernet port LEDs indicating?
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable?
Have you tried a different Ethernet port on the router?
Can you see the MyCloud on the router’s UI?
Can you see the IP address of the MyCloud in your router?
Can you access the MyCloud Dashboard UI using this IP address in a web browser?
Can you see the MyCloud file system on your laptop?
