I just bought a 3TB My book Live, and installed WD Photos Apps on my iPhone and Android phone.
Here are some issues for WD Photos on iPhone:
not support auto Sync feature, but Android version support. Please add it on iPhone Apps version.
1.1 for Auto Sync feature, I strongly suggested support multi-folder auto sync, and support custmer select.
change photos original files name after upload, that’s **bleep**.
when I manually upload my photos from my iPhone, I found photos were not upload by Files Name sequence or Photos taken date sequence. So, I use my laptop accessed the NAS folder, OMG, what a whole **bleep**, all photos uploaded from my iPhone changed Files name, all start with “WD_xxxxx.jpg”.
Please fix these two bugs, make it useful in iPhone, thanks!
Ditto. Renaming the photos bothers me, but the fact that it renames them seemingly at random is terrible. I just uploaded 200 vacation photos - went to look at them and realized they were in random order. This needs to be fixed ASAP or I will be returning my 3TB My Book Live. They advertise these apps like they are a great feature and that is mainly why I bought the My Book Live - now that I am trying to use them, they are terrible. A good uploader will not stomp on the meta data (created, modified, date taken, file name, etc).

After upload to MyBookLive, all the photos have been rename, and all the date have been mess up! It’s so difficult to view the photos in MyBookLive and it’s totally meaningless to backup to MyBookLive.
All the photos can only upload to a Public folder. I have to change the folder manually even though I have setup a few user in My Book Live.
Overall, this is a useless product and I’m strongly NOT recommend to all my friends and share them the weakness of MyBookLive, especially for all iOS and iphone user! I’m really disappointed with MyBookLive, I hope WD can really do something to improve WD photos and all the iOS and iphone support!

1- It’s not mybooklive/local (with a slash). It’s mybooklive.local (with a dot.) In order for it to work properly, you’ll need an mDNS client (I think, but don’t know for sure that Macs have it built-in)
