Is bringing my MyCloud to a recovery center voids warranty?

Need help, please!

I have a 3TB MyCloud and like most users, I’VE LOST DATA! My main user folder content was gone! Everything GONE! What’s weird is the folder was not deleted, just the content!

I’ve been trying to do a data recovery via software but it seems like you cannot do it with NAS/RAID (I’m not good with tech like this so don’t really know the difference). My last resort seems to be that I bring my MyCloud to a recovery center.

Now, will my MyCloud warranty from WD be voided?? Since I assume the recovery center will open the hard drive.

Or, is there a recovery software that actually works for MyCloud? Please help, I’m so desperate! I have just started my own business and all my business files are in this drive.

Thank you.

J

Were you using the synch software and then deleted the files from your PC ? , sounds like a possible scenario.

If they have to open the enclosure to get at the drive(s) , I’m betting that would definitely void the warranty as opening the case is listed as one of the things you shouldn’t do.

The WD Sync shows nothing, actually. I don’t know what’s wrong with my hard drive because it’s always missing, too! From the tool bar on my Mac, it doesn’t sync at all. Very frustrating! I thought buying an expensive hard drive would be better but seems like this is up to no good since a lot of users are having problems when I did some research in the community.
