Hello everyone. I recently purchased a WD 2 TB External HD:
After filling it up with numerous pictures and videos, i connected it to my PS3 so I could view them on my TV. My TV does NOT have a USB port on it, so I decided to go through my PS3. After this I realized that the PS3 does not recognize HD’s with the NTFS file system, only the FAT32 system.
Frusterated and not in the mood to reformat the HD to FAT32 (truthfully unsure about the difference), I came across this, the WD TV Media Player:

It looked like the answer i was looking for, but I have two questions.
-
Is My Passport compatible with the WD TV Live? It wasnt listed on the compatiblity list, but more than one person in the forums said that they were. Also on that list, I got the impression it was not complete.

Is the fact that My Passport is USB 3.0 a factor? I heard older TV’s such as mine (a sony LCD about 4 years old) wont recognize USB 3.0.
Basically I’m wanting to buy the WD TV Live, plug it in and then plug in My Passport and the viola all my pictures and videos are displayed on my TV.
I could run to Best Buy, buy it and then try it out and return it, but hopefully someone can save me a trip.
Thanks!!
