The reason I as is because for whatever reason I cannot do a chkdsk or a scan using the lifeguard software, it fails every time or blue screens. Does anyone have any ideas?
I cannot do an extended test, it blue screens. The quick test does this :- 06-Quick Test on drive 1 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 1!
Hi first of all I would try a copy of Hard disk sentinal and see what the smart data reads and test the drive with it. But it sounds like its time to backup your data and RMA the drive I would backup the data now.
I linked the SMART data in some screen shots but it looks like it didnt work. Hard drive sentinal is telling me I have 9% hard drive health with 1466 Current Pending Sector Count and 1461 Offline Uncorrectable errors. What is strange is that Reallocated Sectors Count is reading 0. The Western digital lifeguard tool tells me that there are 0 Current Pending Sector Count. HD tune pro tells me that there is also 1466 bad sectors just like HD sentinal. Western digitals software tells me it is fine, but other pieces of software tells me that it is about to die… which is it?
I back up all my important stuff regually onto an external drive. I just went through the advanced RMA process.
Hi yes good theres no need to play with a bad drive there advanced RMA works well.
