Ever since I got My Cloud Home, I have been unable to backup videos from my Pixel 7 phone. Photos backup automatically fine, but not videos. Is there a solution to this?
Most users would try the following, in this order of difficulty but above all try this when the Pixel is connected to a stable high speed WiFi connection.
- Delete cache of the MCH Android app. Video cache in a sync process is often corrupt.
- Try using h.264/AVC instead of h.265/HEVC codec in the Pixel.
- Update MCH Android app to the latest available.
- Update Pixel Android to the latest available.
If all these failed, try
- Downgrade MCH Android app to an earlier version that worked. There is a long thread discussion on this subject as to what version worked.

*> had a similar issue using my ibi with my pixel 7 pro ever since the server hack. Before the hack, my videos (no matter the size) would backup. Now I can’t even get a 10 MB video to backup. Note, all photos do backup.
Yes, this sounds similar to the issue I had. Try turning off and then back on app permissions for the WD app. Seemed to solve the issue for people.
Wow… that seems to have done the trick. I cleared the cache. Turned permissions off and then back on. And now the videos are syncing. Thank you!!
No worries, it was a very weird bug that took months to figure out lol. Such a simple fix in the end.
Although I believe newer versions of the app/android should have fixed the issue, so not sure why you still had it. Maybe you haven’t upgraded your android or app in a while? Or maybe the bug has reappeared.
Unfortunately, I cant test it as I can no longer use my ibi since WD discontinued support and online syncing, so l have moved on to a Synology NAS which guarantees at least 10 years support.
