We are having issues uploading folders to our device. The folder I am currently working on is only 50MB and it so far has taken over an hour to upload two of the subfolders to the unit. It disconnects then reconnects and seems to have issues doing this task
For single small folders and files, they upload in a snap!
If a wireless signal is involved transfers can take a long time. Instead, transfer folders/files through a wired network, example: from a computer connected to network via a wired ethernet cable to the PR4100 on the wired network.
Anyone using a PR4100 NAS or similar NAS need to be using a gigabit speed network, meaning using a gigabit router, and gigabit capable computers with the PR4100 connected to router. If any network switches are involved, they too, need to be gigabit. Gigabit all the way through.
If any USB 2 connections are involved with any of the equipment involved, they will slow things down as well. All should be USB 3 to maximize transfer speed.
There are no USB connections. The switches in our server room are Gigabit (just installed two new ones this year). We have Verizon Phios and just upgraded our router and speed back in December of 2016. I doubt that should be an issue.
Our server is a new one also with the, I believe 10/100/1000 ethernet card in it. That I would have to verify but I am pretty positive it is since the unit is only 8 months old.
This is perplexing since it does not happen on all files. Only very large files.
I was trying to upload from our server to the cloud. On the older system, all I had to do is drag & drop. Now I need to us WD Access to load folders. Simple files can be dragged and dropped but folders require the use of access.
