Just bought a WD Live HUB and wow it's been a journey. Some basic questions...need help :)

Hi everyone, I was using my xbox as an extender using media browser for years but grew weary of the jittering in high bitrate movies. So i finally bought the WD TV Live Hub. It plays files for me flawlessly regardless of size. :slight_smile:  BUT it definitely doesnt look anywhere near as nice as media browser :frowning:  nor being able to register for this forum for an entire week right after buying it (murphys law) was very frustrating lol.

So for the last week straight ive been doing the whole trial and error with themes / moviesheets / thumbgen and has been somewhat painful. I’ve finally figured it all out and at the point where im testing different moviesheets themes. But some things are very confusing and its hard to find info on some things.

QUESTION 1) I see that there are THEMES and there are MOVIESHEETS. The thing i find very confusing is if i  find a movie sheet i really like for exmaple:  Lstar337’s ‘Split-Sheet’ v3.0 Movie Sheets! from WDTVlive,net ----it ONLY comes with the movies sheets. Does that mean i just use, or have to use, the default theme that comes with the tv live hub? I thibk its called mochi? Or can you download a custom THEME ONLY you lije and then find a moviesheet set u like also and combine the two?

QUESTION 2) The VIEW type thing for movieshseets is also very confusing. I always see the terms SHEET, WALL, STD used like you have to set your box to STD. I do not see those 3 choices as view types in the LIVE HUB?..there are a bunch of other view  types in VIDEO > like GALLERY, PREVIEW, LARGRE GRID VIEW. etc., etc.  So i read that you have to set your box to STD mode/view to use some moviesheets correctly…how do you even do that? I couldnt find a setting for that anyhwere.

QUESTION 3) Also the mix of communities and different player types can make this all very confusing for a noob. Like i went WDTVlive.net and them have a bunch of cool moviesheets, but i couldnt figure out if i can use them with the LIVE HUB? And if so, what theme do you have to use them with? Default? And they say u have to use certain firmwares for moviesheets but they are always higher than even the latest firmware on the LIVE HUB.

You can use any moviesheet you like (1280x720 Max Resolution) with the default Mochi Theme and a Custom Theme (if the author has not disabled them) 

You will find 99% of Custom Themes will work with moviesheets.

Be Aware … Moviesheets only work in “Gallery View” and take a few seconds to display.    *

You must be running Firmware 2.06,10 or Higher for locally stored moviesheets to display.
The moviesheet will only display if you have a reference to it in the movie xml

eg.  Captain America_sheet.jpg

Ignore Sheet,Wall,Std … thats how custom Firmware displays Moviesheets and does not apply to WDTV Live Hub. Moviesheets only work in Gallery View on the WDTV Live Hub.  *

Remember, a Moviesheet is just a JPG image. How a Media Player displays it, can differ from device to device.

* My “Aeonish Hub Theme” uses a “Different Moviesheet Method” which can display a Backdrop (aka Moviesheet)  for ALL Views.

Unfortunatly it is only Compatible with Firmware 2.07.17 … as with newer Firmware WD Disabled the use of PNG Graphics.

Which was an integral part of the my Theme.
