I just got my Wd TV Live plus and have some questions. I have been a popcorn hour for awhile, but always wished that it would do netflix, so now that the plus came out I decided to get it because of netflix and that it is now supposed to handle DVD menus.
I have DVD movies on my NAS that are with AudioTs and VideoTS folders as though they were the DVD. On my popcorn hour I click in a folder containing hose and it immediately starts playing it just like a DVD. I expected the same from Wd TV Live plus, but it does not do that instead I have to navigate into the vob files and play those…and then when that vob is done it does not automatically go to the next one. I checked to see if I had the latest firmware and I do.
My other frustration is that the only internet media seems to be media fly. Do i need to manually set up you tube and pandora and all the other wones that WD is saying they support and showing in their tutorial videos?
Thanks in advance for shedding some light on this.
Thanks for replying. I have my files exactly as VIDEO_TS. I have also gone in and selected the VOB files and as I originally noted they stop and do not continue onto the next vob in the list. These same files play fine on my popcorn hour. I have gone into video menu and there is no you tube listed, only mediafly… and in audio menu there is absolutely nothing. This really surprised me. I expected to at least find pandora. Is WD doping something different with there latest boxes???
Go to the ABOUT or SYSTEM INFORMATION and look at your current Firmware version.
What is it?
Also, how did you rip your DVDs? It sounds to me like they weren’t ripped correctly and the PGS data were removed, which will disable menu functionality (and seamless VOB playback)
I am not at home right now where my wd tv live plus is, however, last night I tried to update the firmware and it told me I was running the most up to date version. The DVDs were ripped using either CloneDVD or DVDShrink. I think the PGS is fine since I can burn to CD and they play fine on multiple dvd players and the pocorn hour has no trouble with them.
are you selecting the VTS_01_1.vob etc…to play? if so you should try just selecting the VIDEO_TS.VOB or the VIDEO_TS.IFO and see if that plays them correctly,

Mediafly is in the Internet Media menu and its the only thing there.
Cycle through the menu’s using the up and down button until you come to the Video menu (Its the next one down from Internet media), press enter on the Video logo and then cycle through the options using the up or down buttons. You should see Local disc (if you have one), Media Servers, Network shares and YouTube. Press enter on the YouTube logo.
Likewise for Pandora cycle through the main menu’s until you come to Music (its 3 down from Internet Media after Video and Photo). Press enter on the Music logo and then cycle through the options via the up and down buttons, you should see Local Disc (if you have one), Media Servers, Network Shares, Live365 and Pandora. Press enter on the Pandora icon.
I had the same problem. You have to go into VIDEO_TS folder, then scroll and select the menu file: VTS_01_0.VOB, then enter play button. The menu is always the 0.VOB file. This may not help you anymore, but I’m sure that it will help someone else.
