LED blinking for 3 days- resolved :)

For several months, I had NO light on the front of MyCloud. Since it was working, I figured the light had burned out, so I didn’t pay it any attention.

We had a power hiccup here 3 days ago. When the power came back on, so did the light on MyCloud. My concern is that the light has been blinking ever since.

My MyCloud 2T drive appears to be functioning OK - I can access it via the web interface without any errors and also through a mapped drive letter. I’ve been using a 3rd party app with Windows Scheduler to keep the files on my desktop synced / backed up to MyCloud, and the date stamps confirm that the backups are running…

Should I be concerned that the light is still blinking? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Cindy

What colour is it blinking?
Is it blinking, or is it slowly fading on and off?

Can you access the Dashboard? If so, are there any alerts? Can you run diagnostics?

Have you rebooted your router?

Thanks for your quick reply.

It looks like a pale yellow blink… or white.

Yes, all devices (cable router, wireless router, mesh wireless point) were rebooted after the power glitch. I always do that to ensure that everything comes back online OK.

MyCloud is cabled to my cable router. Has been that way forever.

Dashboard? Alerts? Diagnostics?

Have you rebooted the MyCloud? 4-second reset? 40-second reset?

I can access the dashboard and there are no alerts at all.
Firmware is current.

I haven’t tried a reboot yet, as with the blinking light my concern was interrupting the “chkdsk”
I’ll try the 4 sec reset. Fingers crossed

Thank you, @cpt_paranoia - the 4 sec reboot cleared the blinky blinky…

Now I am back to full connectivity, but no light… so I have to assume that the blue LED has resigned from it’s job.
I am back to assuming that if I can access the dashboard and also access via my mapped drive, and have backups running successfully, then all is well.

Thanks for your assistance - it gave me the bravery to do the quick reset.

Glad to hear you’re back to ‘normal’.

Blue LED failure seems very common; mine is broken, too.

If you were getting access, then I deduced it wasn’t fsck, as that stops the MyCloud finishing a boot until fsck is complete, IIRC.
