Mycloud 3tb wont connect to my Time machine properly anymore. For the last 18 days if It wont make automatic back ups and if I try and perform a back up it just sticks on “Looking for Back Up Disk”
No matter what I do, I cant get it to back up. Nothing has changed so I don’t know why it is doing this.
Sometimes it will pop up with Back Up Disk not available" too… but I can access the disk so its there.
Anyone have any ideas on a solution? Im almost done with this hd but I really dont want to have to buy another one. Just wish this would work as it should
Have you tried to “Power Cycle” the My Cloud? or a 40sec reset?
Has it done a Firmware update?
Has the IP changed?
Hi! Thanks for the response
Ive tried the power cycle and the firmware is up to date. The IP is the same. Cant work it out.
It should be noted the My Cloud does not connect to Time Machine. Rather your Macintosh computer connects to the My Cloud so the Time Machine program within the Macintosh computer can access the My Cloud and perform a backup.
If your Mac is using El Capitan, then you should do a subforum search (via the magnifying glass icon upper right) as there are problems with El Capitan and the My Cloud. And some of those threads may have solutions or workarounds to your particular problem.
Further do a subforum search for Time Machine and you’ll find numerous threads covering a variety of issues with some possible workarounds.
