Lost all my data on my WD Mybook Essential. Please Help

I was recently transferring files from my 1TB Mybook to a USB flashdrive on my desktop and one of the cords was accidentally disconnected in the process. An error message popped up and said all my data had been corrupted. I then rebooted my computer and was unable to access my Mybook. After unplugging and replugging the MyBook It started working again(somewhat). I had completely filled the Drive to capacity(1TB) and it is now telling me that I have used 0% of the drive… So Is there anyway to recover my lost data? Or do I have to start from scratch all over again? =(

Hi

You can try a data recovery software to see if you can recover the files by your self, or you can take the drive to a data recovery company, I will also recommend to contact WD to verify if the drive is still under warranty to replace it.-

I deleted data from my WD5000H-18-00 to attach it to a new computer. Doesn’t work now. What do I do to make it work?

If you don’t need the data try reformatting the drive if it shows in disk management. If you still need the data try some recovery software like this http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
