Mac crashes when G Drive mounts

I have a 3 TB G drive which I have used for a couple of years, recently i have been unable to use it as each time I switch it on it causes my I mac or Mac Book Pro to shut down when it mounts. any similar experiences and solutions ??

If the drive is causing multiple computers to crash then it can only be hardware related to the interface on the drive. How are you attaching it to the computer? FW or USB or something else? Have you tried another interface?

If the drive is within warranty you can generate an RMA on our website to get a replacement: RMA

Thanks for your reply, I have tried connecting using USB and Firewire 800 and tried different cables but it crashes my iMac and 2 Mac book Pros, I do not know how long I have had this drive as I cannot find the original invoice, it was bought at an Apple store but cannot trace the invoice. I would like to know if the data can be recovered, and if it can be replaced or repaired.

You could always try removing the drive from the enclosure and getting a new hard drive enclosure and see if it will worth that way. It is possible the drive itself is OK and just the interface board on the enclosure is the issue.
