Mapping Share Drives - Issues

Last night I had an issue with my EX4100 16TB drive. Seems we had a power blip in my area and the drive was powered off. When I re-started the unit a little later I had an error show up on my computers screen saying it was unable to “Map” the shared directories. I then opened up Windows Explorer and noticed that both of the drives showed an “X” which I know means the drive was not connected (Mapped). So I then unchecked the selections and tried to re-map the drives. I was unable to do so.

I then shutdown both the drive and the computer and re-started both. After everything was back up and functioning, I tried to re-map the drives and now it says they are already mapped by another user…

How do I disconnect whom ever may be connected so I can get the shares mapped again on my primary Windows 7 computer ?

Hello,

You can reset the unit using the physical reset button on the back of the unit. Also, set the unit with a static IP to get a more stable connection.

If I reset the unit via the reset button, this wont damage or remove any information stored on the disk correct? Just reset’s the settings on the unit itself right?

Problem fixed. Now it works just as I hoped it would.
