I have a MYBOOKLIVEDUO (MyBookLiveDuo 02.43.03-022 : Core F/W) and have been using the WD Photos app on both iPhone and iPad to successfully to view the 34k photos I store on the MBLD. Recently, a few days after adding some new photos to the Public folder on the MBLD I noticed that they were not appearing in the App although I can see them via the My Cloud App on the same devices.

I followed advice off the website and have been through turning the MBLD off and back on and also carried out a Rebuild of the database to try and resolve the issue.

Having carried out the rebuild Photos start to appear in the App but after a period of time this growing number halts. The number of new Photos appearing at the time it stops seems to vary. From what I have seen after several rebuilds it seems to stop at anywhere between 700 and 1100 photos. It does not appear to stop on the same photo or folder. Indeed I have moved folders out of the Public folder to see if this improves the situation but this has not helped.

Can anyone advise?

It can take several hours for the My Book to create thumbnails for 34k photos. The photos will be available right away on the WD My Cloud app since it doesn’t use thumbnails.

Thanks, yes I am aware of the length of time it can take.

I can see photos start to appear in the app and I see the numbers growing.The number then stops incrementing and no more photos appear - I have left the app for a day and there has been no progress.

Each time it stops there is a sub folder in the app showing “0 Photos”. I have removed the folder and rebuilt the database and the import continues and gets further. Is it possible something in the sub folders can cause the import to freeze - I cannot see anything unusual with the folder looking at it through explorer?
