I’ve just notice that there’s a WD Elements Play and a WD TV Live Hub.
Until now I only knew WD TV Live!!!
Please, can someone tell me the main differences between them? I know that WD Elements have a internal drive, but does it has the same capacity and features to play files when compared to the WD TV Live?
And what about the WD TV Live Hub? Does it has a internal drive as well? What advantages when comparing with his brothers? Thanks
EP’s can be bigger… up to 2TB, the Hub up to 1TB. The EP use 3.5" drives, the Hub uses 2.5" drives. The EP is thus a lot larger and heavier than the Hub.
The Hub is a Pseudo-SERVER. It has TWONKY (for DLNA) and iTunes servers, as well as SAMBA servers. The EP can’t even be attached to a network.
The Hub has better audio decoding capability (namely DTS) where the EP cannot do DTS.
The Hub is based on the Sigma chipset, the EP is on based on the cheaper AmLogic chipset.
The Hub has access to all kinds of online content (Mediafly, YouTube, Blockbuster, NetFlix, DLNA, Flickr, Accuweather, Facebook, etc…) * some only in the US.
The EP has none.
