Missing Thumnails - But Not All Thumbnails

This image defines the issues with examples. No thumbnail displayed in a primary photos folder yet - thumbnails that actually open a file in the subfolder. All jpg images. W/o this functionality working it makes mobile usage useless. The folder and share in questions is my folder and I am the admin. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Based on the dates of your files, the crawler may have had a problem with creating that files thumbnail.

TEST:

Make a copy of the same file in a few different locations and let us know if the thumbnails are created.
If so, and you have other files missing thumbnails, you may want to rebuild your content database (assuming you’ve already rebooted the device since 12/2012.

Good morning - I copied the file to two different locations - no thumbnails were created following a WDSync. I should mention this MyCloud is less than a week old and I’ve installed the latest firmware as recommended. It may also be important that my wife’s PC has the same issue following her 1st sync. Lastly when I first setup the drive I uploaded some files to MyCloud into the Public folders. The thumbnails were created. I just uploaded a copy of my sample file into the reference folder and no thumbnail was created. Thanks for your help.

Were you able to get this resolved? I’m having the same issue and it’s very frustrating, I can’t get most image thumbnails to load, and a lot of times the photos themselves won’t open. It’s doing it on the web interface and on the iPhone app.

I have the multimedia option turned on, is there something else I should be doing?

I have two security cameras that save directly to my WD Cloud device and it is vital that I can scroll through the images and movie files via my iPhone.

Without thumbnails, I have to open every file to see what has triggered the camera.

The only way I can get it to show thumbnails on my iPhone is to switch the cloud device off and on. Thumbnails are then displayed but the first time I delete any files from the CCTV folders, all subsequent recordings do not have thumbnails.

Clearly, WD have failed to resolve the issue of thumbnails and it looks like it isn’t a priority for them. Consequently, I am very dissatisfied with my WD device and if anyone asks me if I would recommend one to them, my firm answer would be a resounding, “No!”
