I looked and can’t find anyone with a similar problem:
I’ve got the WD Live player, trying to watch MKV files, but no video. AVI files work perfectly, but MKV files play the sound perfectly but just a black screen for video.
Anyone help?

Post the text output of MediaInfo for such a file.
Also what firmware is on your WDTV.
