Hey bud,

Im having the same problem, Good to know im not the only one

I can play a big 20-40GB mkv file for about 20-30 minutes before the system will just freeze and i am forced to turn it of at the power point :frowning:

I do hope there will be a fix for this because this is main reason i buy wd tv smp to play my bluray remuxes

Read this one  Rear USB Port Issue

I use the port of the front the machine and always have the same problems

Bizarrely, for me it’s the other way around.

The only times a film has ever frozen (this has happened maybe 3 or 4 times), it’s been held on my NAS.  If I move it to an external HDD attached directly to the SMP it works, no problem.

What make of HDD is it?

Is this a Blu-ray Disc rip?

What did you use to rip it?

Steve W

I use HDD external Seagate 1 Tb and Western Digital 2 Tb.

No solution for this problem ???

I have the same issue here. Using a 300GB WD USB2 HDD on front USB port. Using .10.13 and .11.14 firmware.

Watching TS files or MKV - either 15, 20+ Gb .ts or 1, 2, 3 Gb .mkv

Can’t remember seeing this issue previously, so seems like it’s either dieing, or affects more firmware.
